Global internet traffic is expected to double by 2027.

The projected doubling of global internet traffic by 2027 reflects rapid digital transformation across industries and daily life. Factors driving this growth include increased streaming, cloud computing, remote work, online gaming, smart devices and the expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT). As data consumption increases, so do the demands on digital infrastructure. Businesses must adapt by embracing hosting solutions that are not only fast and scalable but also secure. Flood of bot traffic can strain any website, causing slow load speeds, downtimes, outages or security vulnerabilities.

Cloud hosting, content delivery networks (CDNs) and managed services are essential to handle higher demand efficiently. Organizations that invest in robust hosting can ensure a smooth user experience, maintain uptime and protect customer data, all while scaling easily to meet future needs. As digital reliance grows, so does the need for strategic hosting and infrastructure planning. Businesses who partner with the right hosting provider and invest in infrastructure development will come out on top in the future.

A doubling of traffic by 2027 is unlikely to happen, but I can say for sure that at the moment, traffic is really increasing in everyday life. For example, we began to supply Internet up to 10Gbps to ordinary homes (however, ordinary users do not need such a speed at all, even 2.5 is a lot and 10 is already too much). If we are talking specifically about business, then Internet traffic will definitely increase in the future, but it is unlikely to double. Let's take 10 GBPS, no one can provide 20 GBPS, and even more so, such traffic is just something on the verge of insanity because this may be required only in scientific research. Maybe I'm wrong, but still unlikely.
